July Bike of the Month has opened...

Entries will close on 24th July; voting will open 25th July and run until 31st July.

Don't forget to read the rules before entering, all entries must have a chain on them and brake cables too. Can I also remind you to state what year, make and model and maybe a parts run down as it all adds to the entry and gets across what a gem you are entering public/style_emoticons/default/good_mini.gif .

Best of luck to everyone :)

First got the idea for this build when I saw a GT Pro that had been build by a guy from OZ in the first Classic BMX Mag that we get here in the UK. After weeks of staring at the pics and reading about it I though I would build one up to a similar spec and colour scheme so that I would have more than just a few pages to look at and admire.

Here is my recently completed 1981 DB Medium Pro

Most of the original parts were still intact and the only items that are not original are the wheels (in the process of polishing the original Araya rims), grips seat post.

I thought about a re chrome but then opted for white powder - done by Mr Powdercoat in Melbourne

Every original part that was blue I helped my young boy to polish.

Pro decals were made by retrospect BMX but with a clear background instead of prismatic silver

NOS Blue Z Rims were laced to polished Suzue hubs

My boy loves riding this and says it rides far better than any of his new school bikes and his mates think its amazing
