I have 3 Mongoose bikes (Brawler 24, Motivator 20, Motivator 24 i think) all made around 2000 give or take a few years. I'm trying to find out how to read the serial numbers. First digits are: HAMI HAMJ HAMK Do you read the second, third or 4th letter as the year? Thanks all....
rerides posted a topic in RedlineHi Oz, I've been working on trying to work out the sequence for Redline new school serial numbers. Been doing pretty well as I have 2 bikes myself, and there was one put up the other day that John had a crack at dating (correctly as far as I can tell). New school Redline serials start with 2 letters. I have assumed the first is the factory code. By looking at the second number I have worked out what I believe to be the date sequence. The 3 bikes tested so far are: 2006 Black and Green MX 24 2008 Grey Proline Pro XL (Jimmy Boy's) 2009 Grey Proline Pro 2001-2010 – 2 letters at beginning, 2nd is year K L M N O P Q R S T 00 01 02 03 04 05 06 07 08 09 The examples from above are: HS00000 – 2 letters, S is the build year (2008), Sold in 2009 HP00000 – 2 letters, P is the build year (2005), Sold in 2006 HR00000 – 2 letters, R is the build year (2007), Sold in 2008 If anyone has a Redline BMX they believe to be made between 2000 and 2010 please post up a photo and the first 4 digits of the serial numbers. I'll test them against the code crack above. Cheers Brenton
Can anyone identify these frames? First one is a GT. I thought it was a gt bump or something, but now I'm not sure. The head badge has me stumped. I can't find a picture of another gt frame with the same badge. This next one is some sort of Haro. I was thinking it might be a backtrail. It was a blue colour, but it looked different to the blue colour that the other backtrails look when I do a google search. It was almost glittery.
